A past event gives you something a future prediction cannot: a result you can check. Before requesting a Zi Wei Dou Shu reading, write down what happened, when it happened, and what changed afterward. Keep that record separate from your question.
Give the year before giving the story
If you already tell a reader that you were laid off and moved abroad, an explanation involving the Career and Travel Palaces is retrospective interpretation. It may help explain the tradition, but it is not an independent identification of your experience.
For a more useful comparison, request a reading of a particular year's work situation first. Save the initial answer.
A job change needs more than a positive label
Consider a hypothetical move to a smaller employer. Pay stays flat, but you gain responsibility and start traveling to clients. A claim of higher earnings would miss the facts, even if a discussion of authority or movement sounds relevant. In traditional interpretation, career responsibilities, outside circumstances, and earnings require separate attention.
Natal, ten-year, and annual layers also answer different questions. A single annual marker cannot establish the entire event.
Keep the misses as well as the matches. Include a quiet year in your comparison: a reading that predicts upheaval everywhere is not distinguishing much. A few retrospective matches do not establish predictive accuracy. The exercise is useful for noticing vague language and explanations that change after the answer is revealed.
