Whose Home Palace Matters When a Family Moves? A Zi Wei Dou Shu Guide

When several people share one home, their Zi Wei Dou Shu charts may tell different stories. Read the decision maker, payer, and residents separately.

Four people can share one apartment and have four different Home Palaces in their Chinese astrology charts. If one person sees Hua Ji there, it does not follow that the whole family must move. The charts describe different roles in one shared decision.

The useful first step is to name the decision maker, the person paying for the move, and the people whose daily lives will change. Each chart can then answer a smaller, clearer question.

Read the decision maker and the residents differently

For the person choosing a new city or signing the lease, compare the Home Palace (Tian Zhai) with the Travel Palace. The first concerns the living arrangement; the second concerns the move into a different environment. A child who follows the parents may experience changed routines or study space without showing the same decision pattern.

Imagine a father whose Travel Palace carries Hua Quan as he takes a management role in another city. His partner has Hua Ji in the Home Palace and worries about the old lease and chores in the new home. The two charts can describe different jobs within the same move.

Separate the payer from the person affected

If the family is buying, examine the payer's Wealth, Career, and Home Palaces alongside the actual mortgage and ownership terms. If they are renting, the practical questions are lease length, commute, and shared rules. A chart cannot approve a budget on someone else's behalf.

A daughter with Tian Ma in her annual Home Palace may leave for university while everyone else stays. That is her change of residence, not a whole-family move. Grandparents moving in can change the parents' space and care duties even when the address stays the same.

Treat transformations as questions

Hua Lu may raise questions about resources or help; Hua Quan about who manages the home; Hua Ji about a contract, repair bill, or unresolved discussion. Check whether the signal belongs to the natal chart, a decade cycle, or the annual cycle. A long-term wish to buy and this month's lease renewal have different timing.

A practical reading order

First define the event: buying, renting, relocating, or changing who lives together. List the decision maker, payer, and residents. Read each relevant Home Palace, add Travel or Wealth and Career as the question requires, then check the timing layer. Return to the real budget, contracts, and each person's consent before making a shared decision.
