An empty palace on a natal chart and Hua Ji in an annual overlay can appear in the same place. That does not mean the whole year is empty or bad. The first describes the absence of a major star in one natal palace; the second belongs to a time layer.
Separate the overlays
Record the natal palace, its supporting stars, and its opposite. Then record the annual transformation's source star, destination, and the software's convention for annual palace positions. Check the year boundary and birth data if two applications disagree.
An empty natal Wealth Palace with an annual blockage may prompt an independent worker to check overdue invoices or contract changes. It does not erase a steady job elsewhere in the chart. An empty Spouse Palace with annual Hua Ji may bring a practical caregiving discussion rather than a breakup.
Use the opposite palace and trine structure for context, and the decade cycle for the longer backdrop. Ask what actual issue appeared this year and what can be done. Do not turn one red label into a forecast for every part of life.
