The Earthly Branch grid stays in place while palace labels depend on the birth chart. When two charts look different, mark the fixed grid first, then locate the Life Palace and the other labels. Add an annual layer separately before comparing software output.

The branch grid is a coordinate system, while palace names are assigned from birth data. If two apps disagree, compare calendar conversion, birth hour, location, and time settings first. A natal Career Palace covered by an annual Life Palace is a timing overlay, not a changed natal branch. Record both grids before judging any star placement.
