Wu Tan: Wu Qu and Tan Lang Together — The Wealth-Desire Explosive Pattern

Wu Tan is when Wu Qu and Tan Lang share a palace, ruling both wealth and desire with explosive power. People with it can earn and enjoy, but guard against the sudden rises and crashes of "Huo Tan" and "Ling Tan."

Wu Tan is the most "can earn and can spend" pattern. Wu Qu is the wealth star — earning ability and decisiveness; Tan Lang is the desire star — enjoyment, versatility, ambition. Together they're "ability to earn plus desire to spend" — not a miser, but someone who "earns well and spends well." People with Wu Tan have "explosive" opportunities — may suddenly make a fortune, but guard against suddenly losing it too.

Only appears in Chou and Wei. Wu Qu is Yin Metal, Tan Lang is Yang Wood — Metal overcomes Wood, but in Chou/Wei they form "wealth and desire both complete." Wu Tan plus Huo Xing is "Huo Tan," plus Ling Xing is "Ling Tan" — the explosive forms, sudden wealth but also sudden loss.

Conditions

Huo Tan and Ling Tan

Huo Tan — Wu Tan plus Huo Xing, rules "sudden wealth," may make a fortune in a short time. But also "sudden loss" — comes fast, goes fast.

Ling Tan — Wu Tan plus Ling Xing, rules "hidden wealth," may earn through undisclosed means, or accumulate slowly then explode.

Both need the skill of "holding" — after earning, know how to keep it, or it's all for nothing.

With auspicious stars — can hold after explosion; with malefics — lose it quickly after explosion.

The Trap
