The Underlying Logic
Step one places Life/Body and the twelve palaces: birth month and hour fix Life/Body, the other eleven are placed in reverse, and the Life Palace stem-branch sets the Five-Element phase, which determines Zi Wei's position.
Step two places the fourteen major stars: the phase and birth-day number fix Zi Wei, then fixed pairings place the Zi Wei and Tian Fu series—fourteen majors forming the chart's trunk.
Step three places assistants and malefics: Zuo Fu/You Bi by month, Wen Chang/Wen Qu by hour, Tian Kui/Tian Yue by year stem, Lu Cun/Qing Yang/Tuo Luo by year stem, Huo Xing/Ling Xing by year branch and hour, Di Kong/Di Jie by hour.
Step four places the Four Transformations (the year stem decides which star and palace gets Lu/Quan/Ke/Ji) and minor stars such as Hong Luan, Tian Xi and Tian Ma; only after all placement do triple-direction and decade/year readings begin.

- Place assistants and the six malefics by year stem, year branch, month and hour respectively
- Place the Four Transformations from the birth-year stem, then add minor and annual stars like Hong Luan, Tian Xi and Tian Ma
- Check every palace after placement, then begin the substantive triple-direction and decade/year reading

- Layer natal, decade and year before concluding, then decide how to act rather than labeling good or bad
